VeloGo - Bike Share Program in Ottawa-Gatineau

(Theme 1 – Transportation, Theme 8 – Health, Theme 9 – Recreation)

Organization: VeloGo

Timeline for Completion: Starting Oct. 2014 Ongoing Seasonal

Objective:

WHAT
VeloGO is the official Bike Share program for the Ottawa-Gatineau area, a healthy, fun and affordable way to get around the capital region. Hop on a bike and cruise past morning traffic, turn lunch hours into thrill rides, and welcome errands as sun-soaked adventures.

WHERE
VeloGO will be located at over 50 hub locations throughout Ottawa and Gatineau. No hub location near you? No problem, with our smart bikes you can lock the bike to any public bike rack in the system area.

WHEN
VeloGO will launch this Fall with 4 demo locations and expand to 50 locations by the Spring.

BENEFITS
VeloGO enhances transportation options, reduces traffic congestion, stimulates the local economy, and offers both locals and tourists a fun and healthy way to explore the Capital area.

Member Benefits

RIDE AT HOME
When you use our bikes, you will collect “reward points” when you lock up the bike at certain locations. These points can be redeemed at local businesses partners.

OR ON THE ROAD
In addition being a fun and healthy way to get around your own community, members automatically receive pay-as-you-go access to all of Social Bicycles’ current and soon-to-launch bike share programs. Perfect for the traveling cyclist.
