E-Waste Recycling Program

EnviroCentre offers the downtown community a place to drop off their used (working or not working) electronics such as laptops, desktop computers, monitors, televisions, and stereo equipment. Last year, EnviroCentre’s E-waste collection diverted over 12 tons of E-waste from going into landfills. EnviroCentre works in collaboration with La Relance Outaouais, a not-for-profit group that runs a responsible electronics recycling center called Valoritec, which is an Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) approved Processor of electronic waste. All material is held and dismantled according to OES standards. Computers that can be refurbished go to Computers for Schools, which supplies schools and non-profit organizations fully functioning computers at a fraction of the cost of a new one.

EnviroCentre also coordinates community e-waste collection events. We work with community groups to bring this service to their event and continue to provide opportunities for e-waste collection and recycling at the community level.

If you are on the Ontario side of the river and would like to host a collection event, please contact Jessica Sheridan at Jessica.sheridan@envirocentre.ca

Electronics can be dropped off at 366 Rideau Street Monday-Friday between 9-5
Please visit www.Ontarioelectronicstewardship.ca for a full list of accepted electronics.

re-Cycles

re-Cycles also reduces what goes to landfill by reusing used bikes and bike parts, and properly recycling all scrap metal and tires, therefore contributing to reduce our ecological footprint.
